July 2014, a very interesting visit.
The veterinary took her time to explain this procedure, very straight forward, no fuss, mares were happily eating their feeds whilst this was carried out using a tendon probe with a Rectal scan. Whole procedure completed in just under 10 minutes showing early development of a foal foetus at 15 days and 8 weeks. No sedation was required.
So much better that having to wait 100 days for a blood test or external scan, potentially missing a breeding season.
